Mission – Our mission is to provide software solutions to the natural stone industry.

Origin Story – Alex Barnes founded Limestone Capital Software in 2025. He saw a need for software solutions for the industry and had been looking for a “side project” in addition to his role leading the WF Meyers Company.

In a leadership group, a guest speaker mentioned AI-backed “vibe coding” tools that reduced many barriers to entry for building software – no coding required.

Alex started using these tools and was initially frustrated as the AI was cumbersome to work with, changed things without being told to do so, and promised things it couldn’t deliver. Over time, he learned how to better work with it and built a rough prototype for Stone Pricing Pro. At that point, he was hooked.

The process of building something from scratch was thrilling, and he found a team to partner with to verify the work AI had done and build out the parts of the site he didn’t trust AI to get right.

Alex understands the industry and what customers need, AI can lay some of the groundwork at a lower cost than traditional development, and the development team can verify that everything works as it should and push the project over the finish line – it’s a winning modern software development model!

About the Founder – Alex has been working in the stone industry full time since 2011. As the fifth generation of family ownership and management at the WF Meyers Company, he has helped guide a diamond tooling business into a new era. Through Limestone Capital Software and his other ventures, he is on a mission to bring the stone industry boldly into the future and enable it to succeed in a new era.

How We Work – Limestone Capital Software employs a nontraditional approach to building software. We start by getting to know what the customer needs and bring a deep knowledge of the industry to our initial conversation.

Alex has been in the natural stone industry for over 14 years and understands the industry and the challenges it faces.

He will work with your team to assess what you need from a piece of software, and whether a bespoke custom approach or something with wider appeal meets your needs. We will make custom software that only your company can use, or we’ll develop it with your help and input and sell it to other companies as well. Both models have their advantages and disadvantages.

Alex uses cutting-edge AI-backed coding tools to build out the “front end” of the software – this is the part that users will see and covers how the software looks and feels.

Once we get that part dialed in, Alex will bring in his team of software experts who can ensure that the AI-written code is up to our high standard and build the “back end” of the software. The “back end” covers all the behind the scenes nuts and bolts that are essential to having working software, not just a screen that looks good but folds under the pressure of daily use.
